3rd Petal [Video/Action for Violet City] [Backdated to Wednesday]

[The feed clicks on to show an excited-looking - yet slightly exhausted - Sakura, sitting by one of the ponds in Violet City. She's dangling her feet in the water, slowly stroking the fur of a baby Eevee curled up at her side.]

Things have been pretty busy this morning... both of the eggs I've been looking after hatched! [She motions to the small furry creature at her side. She then picks up her 'gear, positioning the camera until it's facing the water. Swimming between her feet, bumping into her ankles more often than not, is a Feebas. The view then returns to focus on Sakura.] Saber-san, Lion-san... I really do appreciate your gifts. If there's anything I can do to repay you, please let me know.

[She moves to turn the feed off, but stops herself.] Ah! I do have a small problem. I'm not very good at naming, so... I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for these two.

[Shirou is walking over, looking at the Pokémon.]

That's a Feebas and an Eevee, right? Did you know in advance what they'd be?

[She looks up at him, a wide smile still crossing her face.] The Feebas, yes. I got it as a gift from someone trying to find homes for a whole bunch of eggs. [She still feels a little guilty that Lion just gave her the egg, instead of paying for it like she probably should have. But there's no point in lingering on that.]

But I didn't know what the Eevee would hatch into.

Ah, okay.

So that's why you were excited about that egg, huh?

[She nods.] Yep! Saber-san didn't tell me when she sent me the egg, so I've been pretty curious the past couple of weeks.

[Shirou laughs.]

I don't doubt it. I know the feeling all too well. I've hatched...I think five eggs?

Really? Which ones?

[A short pause.] Does it... get any less strange to watch mammals hatching from eggs?

Let's see, I hatched a Shellder, a Pawniard, a Riolu, a Dratini, and an Eevee.

And, well...kind of? It's still weird to see it, even if you grasp it.

[Sakura had been diligent in reading the books they had been provided with upon their arrival... but still only recognizes a couple of those names.]

I don't think "weird" is good enough to explain it...

Then maybe I did get desensitized to it. I have been here for over a year and a half now.

Probably... that is a pretty long time, so you're probably used to all kinds of strange things here.

[Wow that came out weird.] N-Not that I'm saying it's a bad thing! That just means you'd be a great help to newer people, like me...

Oh, yeah, that's why I'm fine with it. For now, anyway. I won't be here forever, so I'll do what I can for now.

I hope you're right about that. This place is very nice, so our situation's not really that bad... but I'd much rather be home.

I can understand that. I'm sure Tohsaka is eager to get home, too.

But me, I'm just happy that more of my friends are here now.

[ Rin is somewhere else in town. Of course. ]

That little furball looks just like mine.

[The Eevee's ears twitch, almost like it could hear that remark, and drowsily looks up at the camera.]

Yeah... I wonder if they'll get along?

[ Aaaaah cute- bit Rin must endure. ]

I see no reason for them not to? My Eevee is quite playful as it is, so I don't see it being an issue.

We should get them together....just to be sure.

[Cute beats tsun all the time, Rin. RESISTANCE IS FUTILE.]

Sounds like a good plan to me! I'm over by the tower, if you want to stop by now.

[ UNDERESTIMATING HER TSUN, ARE YOU? ]

I will be around later then.

[No, she just knows you very well at this point, sis.]

I'll be waiting.

[And she doesn't move from her spot at all! Such a patient girl.]

[ Eventually the sister comes around, Eevee running right next to her.

Awkward silence ensues. ]

...y'know, come to think of it I'm running out of names too.

It's pretty hard... harder than naming a pet, I think, since people treat them like so much more here.

Yeah, you're right. I named my last one after I had an argument with Saber, so that should probably tell you how stuck I am for names at this point.

... Well. At least they'll have quite a unique name. That's good, I suppose?

Suppose so. I wasn't seriously planning on naming her Guinevere, but I think the name stuck.

Oh! But that's such a pretty name. Even if it was a little odd, how the name came around... I think it's a nice choice. What kind of pokemon is she?

...tch. Kind of embarrassing, really, but she just started following me around a while ago and wouldn't leave me alone. Yo, Guinevere. C'mere a second, will ya?

[And a moemoeuguu Audino would just waddle her way on over with the cutest damn smile.]

Doesn't really fit in with the rest of 'em, but I guess I don't mind.

That depends! Do you have a naming theme yet, or have you just been shooting from the hip in that regard?

No, I don't have a theme. At least... I can't really go for a theme now. [She laughs a little.] So far I have a Ralts named "Dahlia" and an Ekans named "Rider". I'm not sure what kind of theme I can create from that.

I just... want to give them a name that suits them, that's all.

In that case, you should wait awhile. Unless they're already showing distinct personality traits, in which case that's a good place to work from.

Uu-, Maria's really good at naming things, re-ally good! [ only cutesy names, though.. ]

... Sakura is talking about.. Lion, though? The same Lion Maria knows?

Really? I'd appreciate your help then, Maria-chan!

And I'm not sure. What is the Lion you know like?

Maria will think about it a little, uu-..

[ she nods to herself, decidedly. ]

And Maria's Lion has blonde hair! Lion is Maria's cousin, Lion Ushiromiya, uu-! We're re-ally good friends, the two of us!

Oh, yes! That's the one. He seems like a very nice person, so I'm glad you have a friend like him.

[He seems almost too nice. She feels bad for just taking that egg off his hands for free like that *catsob*]

Uu-, Lion is a really, really nice person..! Maria would be glad if Lion and Sakura could become friends too.. everyone needs more and more friends, right?
